The Victorinox Diplomat is a 58mm Swiss Army knife that is very closely related to the Classic SD, the only difference is that it has chromed stainless steel scales and no toothpick or tweezers.
This model is not very well known and is often mistaken for a sterling silver Classic.
Discontinued.

Scales
Stamped polished chromed stainless steel, with a diagonal checkered pattern, not that different from the texture on the Alox Classic.
The scales are not a machined turned solid stainless steel like on the Broker and some others.
The logo on the top scale is embossed with a silver cross and a bright red enamel shield. There is an engraving panel on the bottom scale.
Variations
Not a true variation, but the Brushed Stainless Steel Classic (US Model No. 53099) is a very similar model - Replacing the handles with a brushed stainless steel variety and having a more matte red emblem.
History
The Diplomat was originally packaged with a soft cloth case, very similar to that provided with the Classic SD Sterling Series.
